Travel Update
As of 9:45 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Monda, February
8th, Durwood Gould, the Director of Sales and Marketing at the
Crowne Plaza reported the following conditions for the D.C. area:
1. The airports:
a. Dulles International is functioning normally, but with
some delays of 15 minutes to half an hour.
b. Reagan National will open as of 10:00 this
morning. Apparently, according to their website,
they did close, contrary to yesterday's information.
c. DWI (Baltimore) is open.
2. The Roads and Shuttles
a. On the Viriginia
side, the main roads are
passable, generally not
bad. Side streets are more
difficult.
b. On the Maryland
side, the roads are
worse.
c. The hotel shuttle
to Reagan National
will run today, but
on demand only.
Call 703-683-6000.
Tomorrow (Tuesday)
the shuttle should
run a regular continuous
schedule.
3.
The Hotel (Crowne Plaza Old
Town Alexandria) is functioning
normally.
Aletta Biersack added: "I called up and was told that the drifts
are over 20 inches and that the temperature in the evening is
F15 degrees, so really cold. Also, for
swimmers, no pool in our hotel but in a "sister" hotel
two blocks away, there is a pool.
